Throughout Q4 2022, the performance of the top 5 communication apps on Android in Ghana exhibited various trends in weekly downloads and active users, as reported by Sensor Tower.

WhatsApp Business had a notable quarter with weekly downloads showing a peak of approximately 329K in the last week of September. Although there were fluctuations, downloads were strong around mid-November at 320K, and closed the year with 278K in the final week. Active users for the app displayed a consistent upward trend, starting at around 2.2M and reaching approximately 2.4M by the end of December.

WhatsApp Messenger saw a varied performance in weekly downloads, starting with 138K in late September, dipping to around 55K by late November, and rebounding to 137K by the end of December. Active users started at 4.4M in late September, but experienced a gradual decline, ending the quarter at approximately 4M.

Ayoba chat.games.news.music experienced significant fluctuations in weekly downloads. The app began the quarter with 25K downloads and saw a peak of 76K at the end of November. However, downloads dropped to 12K in the final week of December. Active users followed a similar trend, peaking at 275K in late November before falling to 124K by the end of December.

The app also saw a steady increase in weekly active users, starting at 1.8M in late September and ending the quarter with approximately 2M. Opera Mini: Fast Web Browser showed consistent weekly downloads, starting with 34K in late September and peaking at 42K in late October. Downloads were steady, closing the year at 35K. Active users for Opera Mini displayed slight fluctuations but remained relatively stable, starting at around 483K and ending the quarter at 427K.
